You have to watch it within 30 days of renting it but once you start watching it, you only have 24 hours.

It’s really dependent on your internet connection. Apple’s answer to this question in their FAQ is this:
“Depending on connection speeds, a standard movie could take anywhere between 20 minutes and 3 hours to download.”
You have the movie for 30 days. But once you start the movie, you have 24 hours to finish it.
Here’s an example: When you start the movie at exactly 3:00AM, it will be due the next day at 3:00AM, But you only get 24 hours to see it. But there’s a thirty day limit to watch the movie too.
